What it is, and why it works.
Cobblestone has paved city streets and estate drives for centuries because it is tough and handsome. Stamped concrete reproduces the rounded edges, tight joints and slight surface irregularity of old cobble, but as a solid slab that will not sink, loosen or collect weeds.
The key to a believable cobble is color. We build it in layers: an integral base, a hand-broadcast color hardener and a darker antiquing release that collects in the joints. In Nashville's historic neighborhoods we often add a hint of green-brown to mimic moss and age. The result looks as if it has been there since the house was built.
Four things done right.
Authentically worn
Rounded edges and tonal variation like real cobble.
Tough and flat
A solid slab, so no shifting stones or weeds in joints.
Multi-layer color
Base, hardener and release layered for depth.
Ages gracefully
Sealer choices that deepen as the surface weathers.
