What it is, and why it works.
Walls make flat space out of slopes and seating out of edges. A stamped concrete wall can carry the texture of stacked ledgestone or fieldstone, with a cap that makes a comfortable bench, and it ties directly into a stamped patio so floor and wall look like one design.
Retaining walls are structural, so we engineer taller walls, add drainage behind them and reinforce with steel. Seat walls are lower and can be curved for a conversation circle around a fire pit. Many Nashville lots slope toward the back, making a wall-and-patio combination the best way to gain usable yard.
