Color Hardener & Antique Release

What it is, and why it works.
If integral color is the paint, color hardener and release agent are the artistry. Hardener is a powder broadcast over fresh concrete and worked in, creating a dense, richly colored surface that resists wear. Release agent is a second powder used on the stamp mats: it lets them pull away cleanly and leaves a darker, contrasting color in the grooves and hollows.
The combination is why good stamped concrete looks like stone instead of colored cement. We choose each layer from your approved samples and apply by hand, building tonal variation that mimics weathering. Around Nashville, charcoal release over tan hardener, and brown release over sand, are favorite pairings.

Hardener & Release: common questions
Can the release color be changed later?
Not easily. The release is part of the surface, so we confirm it with samples first. Color refresh services can adjust tone later.
What is the difference between hardener and integral color?
Integral color runs through the slab; hardener adds a denser, more saturated surface layer on top.
