What it is, and why it works.
Integral color is the foundation of nearly every colored concrete surface. Powder or liquid pigment is blended into the concrete at the plant or on site, so the color runs through the entire thickness. A chip at the edge shows color, not gray, and normal wear never exposes a different shade underneath.
Color choice is part science and part taste. Concrete color is affected by cement type, water ratio and curing, so we use controlled batches, test with samples and plan for natural variation that gives a hand-made look. Here around Nashville, warm tans, buffs and charcoals are the favorites because they sit comfortably with local brick and stone.

Integral Color: common questions
Will the color match from truck to truck?
We use consistent batching and order everything for the pour at once to keep loads aligned.
Does integral color fade?
Color in the slab is stable, though the surface can look duller as sealer wears. Resealing refreshes it.
